Abraaj scholarships, sponsored by The Abraaj Group, which offers one of the largest and a leading investor in the growth markets, is available for Kenyans. The group has a sound track record of stakeholder engagement has pledged its support for the emerging global creative talent pool.
In association with the Royal College of Art (RCA), the two have established a prestigious scholarship programme to support exceptional talent with demonstrable financial need.
The aim of this scholarship programme is to empower the creative potential. It is spearheaded to be the largest scholarship programme of its kind globally for the creative postgraduate sector.
For a period of five years, five outstanding scholars will be selected for the scholarship every year for the entire period.
The scholarship will cover full international tuition fees charged at the Royal College of Art in Londonv to study a Master’s degree for two years. The scholarship will also include a significant contribution towards living costs.
The successful candidate will:
- Share the principles and values of Abraaj in terms of having a positive impact on communities in their home country
- Demonstrate the potential to grow into a leadership position in their chosen field.
- Return to their home country upon graduation in order to make a difference to their community
Eligibility for this programme
All the candidates from the 23 countries in which the Abraaj Group operates are eligible for this programme. The candidates must demonstrate the potential to change the way people think and behave.
They have to share the values of Abraaj in working for the betterment of the life and culture of their home countries.
The qualifying countries include:
UAE; Turkey; Mexico; Singapore; Algeria; Brunei; Colombia; Egypt; Ghana; India; Indonesia; Kazakhstan; Kenya; Malaysia; Morocco; Nigeria; Pakistan; Peru; Philippines; Saudi Arabia; South Africa; Thailand; and Tunisia.
How to apply for the Abraaj scholarships
To begin with, read the entry requirements to ensure you meet the basic qualifications. After confirming that you have passed all the basic requirements, apply directly to the RCA.
Make sure you have followed the standard application process provided here. It is at the discretion of the College to decide on whether or not they should provide a conditional acceptance.
All the applicants from all eligible countries will be automatically considered for the scholarship and a shortlist will be invited to make an application. If you have not been invited to make an application by May 2016, consider yourself unsuccessful.
All students from the eligible countries who receive a course acceptance before the deadline will be automatically considered.
